Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) was created on the 4th March 2006 to spearhead the redevelopment of the Emirate’s aviation infrastructure.
To this end, it plays a key part in the Government of Abu Dhabi’s Plan 2030. Wholly owned by the Abu Dhabi Government, the company is headquartered at its principal asset, Abu Dhabi International Airport.
Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) is the owner and operator of five airports:
- Abu Dhabi International Airport,
- Al Ain International Airport,
- Al Bateen Executive Airport,
- Delma Island Airport
- Sir Bani Yas Island Airport
- Abu Dhabi International Airport City Check-in
- Expo Check-in at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
Through its subsidiaries, ADAC offers ground handling, cargo, catering services, and an internationally approved aviation training center, along with a portfolio of products to include three Free Zones in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
Created in 2006 through a mandate from the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) was formed to manage and operate Abu Dhabi International Airport and overlook its multi-billion dollar expansion plan.
Today, ADAC has expanded its portfolio to include other airport assets that are essential to the growth of the aviation industry in the UAE.
Abu Dhabi Airports Company is a public joint stock company represented by a Board team chaired by Ali Majed Al Mansoori.
In 2011, ADAC continued its growth with Abu Dhabi International Airport and Al Bateen Executive Airport witnessing the largest increases. ADIA registered a 13.9% rise in passenger traffic, while Al Bateen saw commercial movements grow by 11%.
ADAC’s vision to become the world’s leading airport group has triggered a large-scale development program in both the aeronautical and non-aeronautical domains covering all five airports, featuring the Midfield Terminal, the Al Ain Aerospace Cluster, the Free Zones, Skycity and the upgrade of Al Bateen Executive Airport.
